Instrumental Performance: SEED

2015/03/28 (Sat) @ 20:30 - 22:00

| ¥50
Born out of the compositions of Liane Halton’s fingertips, moulded by the rap of Claudio Rebuzzi’s udu, SEED is a powerful compilation of classical, jazz and world influences that holds audiences in their seats while taking their minds on a journey to the deeper regions of their imagination.
Both originating from South Africa, Halton (classical guitar) and Rebuzzi (Udu) draw on their knowledge of South African melody, harmony and rhythm.

SEED’s first album is currently in the making, and planned for release in 2015. In the meantime, their music is available on their Soundcloud page: soundcloud.com/seed-band-sa

About the Artists

Liane Halton:

“Make every note count.” Such is the mantra that underpins Liane Halton’s playing. Having completed a B. Mus. in Composition and Classical Guitar at Rhodes University in South Africa in 2012, she moves between contemporary world, classical and jazz styles. At 26 and just beginning her performing career, Liane Halton is a name to watch on the South African music scene.

Claudio Rebuzzi:

It was on classroom desks that Claudio first started finding his rhythm. It wasn’t until a while later that he bought his first pair of bongos and let his finger free. Claudio is self- taught on both drum kit and percussion over the course of 12 years. He’s performed and featured in various band in South Africa, especially Cape Town. He co-founded SEED with Liane and they have performed at the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown in 2014.
