Born in 1981, Qingdao, Zhu Wenbo moved to Beijing nearly 15 years ago. He has formed two experimental / underground rock duos before: Fat City (2008-2012) and Xiao Hong & Xiao Xiao Hong (2010-), meanwhile improvising with rock bands and different background musicians, or performing solo under the name CT-808. In this project, Zhu uses simple instruments or objects, and produces straightforward, minimalistic performances.
Since 2009, Zhu has been organizing the weekly experimental / improvisation / noise performance series Zoomin’ Night every Tuesday. A lot of Beijing’s new generation experimental musicians began their performance at Zoomin’ Night.

Yu Yiyi

Yu Yiyi was born in Guangdong in 1986. He has performed hardware noise concerts and released albums under the name Dissociative Disorder. Later he started using FORMALIN for fast-cut-noise, and remains addicted to field recording and drone music. He is also a photographer, and member of the hardware noise project KMKMK.

Mikko Savela

Mikko is a guitarist of Finnish origin, born in Sweden, currently living in Shanghai. After exploring different genres of music with various groups, he turned to improvisation and started to experiment with different ways of playing the guitar. Today he prefers playing his guitar horizontally, using it rather as a percussion instrument by plucking the strings with both hands and hitting the guitar body with metallic objects. He also uses different kinds of microphones and electronics.

Yan Jun

Improviser and field recordist.
His feedback improvisation employs mics, speakers and the space as instruments. His subtle body movements influence the way sounds are conveyed. It’s an instable and uncontrolled system.
He is a member of FEN and the Tea Rockers Quintet, and a founding member of the Impro Committee. He Has toured or played at festivals in more than 20 countries.
