The Meridian Magazine is the fruit of a collaboration between creative minds from all over the world to build a revolutionary kind of electronic magazine, bringing together works from each of the 24 main time zones of the planet.
These works include virtually all types of digital media, including texts, photos and graphic works, music, videos, etc. They will eventually be published to mobile devices in the shape of a digital “app”, online, and eventually also printed.
We try to make sure each of these works reflects part of the “spirit” of the place in which they were conceived. We also want them to be fully representative of the ‘Meridian view of the world’ — which propones equality, diversity, creativity and truthfulness.
Those works are gathered according to a main topic chosen for each issue of the magazine.
UPDATE (May 2012): This project is currently in pause, due to an unfortunate epidemic of plague at the Meridian offices. But it will be back, in a little while.
The Meridian Magazine #1: “Urban Mysteries”
“Urban Mysteries” is the theme of this inaugural issue. We considered both words to be exciting and inspiring, at a time when the cities have become the main backdrop to our lives, hopes, and fantasies.
Most of the content here originates from creators we met through various social networks on the Internet. Those “featured articles” include some key elements of information about the city at the heart of the article, and about the authors themselves: after all, one of the major aims of our magazine is to enable our contributors to build new links with their readers.
All our warmest thanks to everyone who helped this magazine see the light of day, and hope to see more and more people participating in this project — and in the other ones organized by Meridian!
