The Meridian Magazine is the fruit of a collaboration between creative minds from all over the world to build a revolutionary kind of electronic magazine, bringing together works from each of the 24 main time zones of the planet.
These works include virtually all types of digital media, including texts, photos and graphic works, music, videos, etc. They will eventually be published to mobile devices in the shape of a digital “app”, online, and eventually also printed.
We try to make sure each of these works reflects part of the “spirit” of the place in which they were conceived. We also want them to be fully representative of the ‘Meridian view of the world’ — which propones equality, diversity, creativity and truthfulness.
Those works, ideally are gathered according to a main topic chosen for each issue of the magazine.
The Meridian Magazine #1 : Urban Mysteries
The Meridian Magazine #2 : The Way of the Saucepan
“The Way of the Saucepan” is the theme of the second issue of Meridian magazine. We are soliciting recipes of delicious dishes from various cultures of the world, complete with photos and/or videos illustrating the step-by-step cooking process including an interesting background story.
We would like to collect authentic recipes, of the kind transmitted from generation to generation since the dawn of times; of the kind that always work, no matter how often they have been prepared, over and over again. Recipes with a long and glorious history, deeply rooted in the hearts (and stomachs) of a people, in a certain place.
This second issue of Meridian magazine is open for all to contribute. And the best part is our favorite recipes will be shown in our new, upcoming Meridian On Mobile electronic application — and then in a series of printed cookbooks called The Way of Saucepan, which will be jointly published by Meridian and NewStar Press.
