Thursday October 2nd, Meridian Space:
DEER, featuring Yan Jun, Yan Yulong and Soviet Pop
DEER is the bass clarinet players Hans Koch, Christian Müller and Silber Ingold, three leading figures of the experimental music scene of Biel, Switzerland. Their electro-acoustic experiments lead them to explore the miscellaneous sound colours of the bass clarinet and the different manners of playing it, in conjunction with electronic resampling and distortion. While following a strict conceptual approach, they also allow elements of improvisation into their music, for more stylistic playfulness.
They will be joined for three unique sets (40 to 60 min each) by Beijing-based performers and composers Yan Jun (founder of the Sub Jam label), Yan Yulong (of Chuiwan fame), and the Soviet Pop duo, tireless promoters of improvised and noise music in the capital.
TIME: Thursday October 2nd.

The Miji series started in 2011. After organizing more than 300 events, the Sub Jam label has been focusing its energies on a clearly-defined direction: that of sound and listening. At the Miji concerts, artists are welcome to engage in cold improvisation, radical performance, and absolute noise.
