Unbounded Curiosity

Located in the heart of Beijing, Meridian Space is a creative hub that brings together people, ideas, and products from all other the world, to provide renewed sources of inspiration and enjoyment.

Meridian Space is home to a quiet cafe providing tasty food and drinks, but it is also an art gallery, a live music venue, an outpost for bike culture in Beijing, and a cross-cultural laboratory where to attend high-quality workshops for children and adults.

Have a drink or a bite at Café

Set inside Meridian Space, Café provides a wonderful experience of excellent coffee and tasty cakes.

Café stands as a subtle and enticing blend of East and West, taste and design, freedom and nature, people and good products. Such is the meaning of the ampersand symbolising the spirit of this place.

Café offers specially-selected, high-grade coffee and tea; a creative culinary blend of Western and Chinese cakes and other sweets, featuring seasonal specialties; and last but not least, wonderful wine and beer.

Our patio, complete with fountain and fish pond, is the perfect place to relax with some friends — and weather allowing, to launch new bike explorations across Beijing.

The Meridian Art Lounge: Bicycles and Inspiration

Meridian is partnering with the young, innovative and Beijing-based bicycle company 700Bike. While offering its space and walls to exhibitions and cross-cultural events, Meridian Space’s Art Lounge also acts as a breeding ground for Beijing’s modern bicycle culture.

700Bike is currently showcasing four state-of-the-art bikes designed specially for young urban dwellers: Houjie, Houjie MINI, Meishuguan, and Baihua. Products and spare parts from legendary providers such as Brooks or Chrome are also on offer, as well as funky bike-themed memorabilia.

Apart from bike-related events, Meridian’s favourite performances, exhibitions and cutting-edge screenings are still taking place in the Art Lounge – check out our events program to see what’s happening.

Kids may learn more about the different cultures of the world, while adults will find chances to learn skills and crafts from different cultures with the help of great teachers, often with an environmental and sustainable twist.

Meet our Design Consultant:

Wang Hui 王晖

An architect, urban planner, product designer and artist, Wang Hui is a prominent figure among young contemporary Chinese architects. It is largely thanks to him that Meridian Space exists in its present shape.

In Beijing, he is particularly noted for his work on Zuoyou Café and Today Art Museum. The work he did on the design of Pingguo Primary School (Ali, Tibet) and of Lion Grove Garden (Suzhou) is part of the permanent collection of the National Art Museum of China.
