Every Sunday this summer, Meridian Space will be screening remarkable animation films from all over the world.
This week, join us for two thoughtful and poetic animated views on the consequences of war. We will start off with Hayao Miyazaki’s legendary Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind (1984), a fantasy masterpiece dealing with such profound themes as mankind’s will to dominate nature; next on this double-bill, Ari Folman’s Waltz with Bashir (2008), an animated semi-documentary in which the filmmaker revisits his own memory of the war in Lebanon. Unforgettable images, and a deeply pacifist message.
